Blow off as much water as you can with compressed air (or a towel)

Coat with silicone spray to lubricate and prevent rust (wd-40)

Let dry

Get it dirty again, and repeat.

Whoa whoa, no WD-40 man. It contains mostly petroleum distillates which are harmful to plastics. The little bit of lubrication it contains quickly evaporates and leaves the distillates behind to eat away at plastic. It is not a silicone spray that you want to use.

Stuff like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Airsoft-Gun-Si.../dp/B000FX302M Is okay to use.

Some people say the 3 in 1 Silicone spray (in the yellow can) is okay but I would assume it's not much different from WD-40.
