adding caster will give you more on-power steering...
plastic is lighter, and as far as a caster block, I run 14 deg on my xray and have NEVER broke one...
Keep in mind, when you add an aluminum part, you are adding durability yes, to that area, but you will also be adding more stress to a different area of the car..
