Per the tip on the XXXS Tech page, I shortened the bottom shock eylets 1/8" and trimmed the top collar ring 1" springs.
Will this suffice until the threaded short shock kit arrives? Thanks Mike

The eyelet mod you did will lower the ride height. To get the benefit of increase steering you can shorten your front shock shafts by .100 shorter than the Losi shafts.
Although you wont have the full benefit of the new shock shafts and shortened shock bodies - this will be a good fix until your order arrives.
Btw, your guy at your LHS is mis-spoken. Start with 24. 19 and 20 is way too low.
