Default FYI BOYS AND GIRLS

Welcome to the Reedy Race 2004 information page!

Here you will find all the latest news regarding this year’s event, so check back often as we will update rules, sponsors and the activities which will be taking place.

Location
The 2004 Reedy Race of Touring Car Champions will take place at the Tamiya America R&D Test Facility located in Aliso Viejo California. This year’s dates are May 27th -30th.

Entries
Entries will be available in two ways. The first way is through radio control magazine and the second is through a downloadable PDF that can be downloaded here.
The online PDF entry form will be available for download soon. The entries will be handled in a different manner this year due to the high volume of participants wanting to attend and to make it fair for racers around the country. The lottery system will be used to determine which racers will be entered into the event.
How it works:
Once the online entry form becomes available, racers wanting to participate will need to mail in their entry before April 1st 2004. Entries postmarked after this date will not be entered into the lottery. (Do not wait till the last minute to send it in. If you are serious about being part of the event send in your entry ASAP)
Payment must be included with all entry forms. Entries received without payment will not be put into the lottery pool.
Only one entry per person.
You may only choose one class. You may not choose two classes in the hopes that you will make one or the other.
Your racer information must be accurate. Name, address, class, frequencies, personal transponder number, phone number and email address.
Once we have all entries submitted, each one will be assigned a number. This number will go into a lottery pool. The number will be drawn by an independent group not associated with the event. The winner’s names will be posted on this page and we will also contact them via email or phone. The drawing will be held on April 9, 2004. Check back on this date to see if you made it in.
Racers not making the cut will be put into a waiting list, also determined by lottery. That list will also be posted on this site.
Entries are not transferable.
Entries are non-refundable after May 12th.
Important note:
For those racers that made the “A” Main in the Open Spec and Open Mod classes in 2003, they will receive an automatic spot for the 2004 event. These racers must send in their entry by April 1st 2004. If we do not have your entry by that date we will assume you are not participating. Make sure you get in your entry.

Track accommodations
Power and covered pits with tables will be supplied. Parking is limited and we encourage carpooling when possible.

A controlled tire will be used for all classes. We will be using the Take-Off pre-mounted and pre-glued CS-27. A free set will be given to all drivers with their entry. Each driver will be allowed to tech a total of 4 complete sets of tires for qualifying. The CS-27 pre-mounted tires that will be used for this event will have a new wheel and will only be available for the Reedy Race. All controlled tires used at the Reedy Race must be purchased at the event. These tires will be marked by the race organizers.

Race Rules
The no one-way rule will be used again for this year. All cars must have four wheel drive and four wheel braking.
Tire additives are allowed.
IFMAR rules will be used to enforce body types allowed, minimum weight and chassis dimensions.
Minimum car weight, car width and minimum roof heights will be enforced. Those exact numbers will be posted at tech during practice days. Those numbers as well as more detailed event rules will be included in the racer confirmation letter.

Motors
The Open Spec class will use the Quad magnet Reedy 19 Turn Spec motor (#513). Each racer will receive one free with their entry and an additional motor may be purchased. Both motors may be used for qualifying and racing.
The Open Mod class will not have a 10 turn motor limit this year. Any IFMAR/ROAR specification motor may be used.
