sturla, I think with the one way there is no way around stripping gears when you take a hard hit. If the wheels are locked so they can't move but the motor is still turning something has to give. (in most cases the one way gear. With a diff the gear can slip. This has been a problem with almost all gas and elec cars. I shimmed my car per the instructions and didn't boil the gears and my gears are fine. If you can try the diff in the front you will not have this problem...
