i have only seen fire from low end batteries: Zippy, Turnigy...
Kokam for example is high end and when they do catch fire (extremly rare) they self-extinguish.
At the ROAR electric 8th scale championship race I seen 2 thunder power hardcase batteries go up in flames. one was in the car the other was on a charger. I've used/owned SMC, hyperion, Thunder power and turnigy cells in all four of my electric 8th scale in the last 2 years, and the crappiest batteries of them all in terms of quality/battery life was the SMC and thunder power 40c I had. hell I bought brand new thunderpower 40c's just for the ROAR race and 2 months later both batteries crapped out on me.
