Can I wager a guess that the spring vanished because the retaining nut unscrewed itself? If so, an O-ring on the top of the threads will keep the retaining nut from leaving the scene of the crime, next time.

I guess I'll be using my 1/12 springs for now they are longer but fits. Well would this affect the handling dramatically???
