One more thing: I've seen a lot of people here using selfmade battery holders (or xray parts) to keep the batteries in their 414s in place (instead of tape). Would this be considered TCS or TEC legal?
I use two selfmade alumium posts with the original carbon battery plate and I wonder if this would be ok (I threw out all the plastic battery holders including the center piece.

Cynically seen, Tamiya would loose some sales on Gears, but maybe gain back some potential buyers of future products. I like my EVO III Surikarn a great deal, but the way Tamiya have ignored the problem would make me go to a more friendly company next time!
