I have all the parts to put an R5 front end on an old AE spaced chassis. The only thing I can't find are the 8-32 screws short enough to mount them to the chassis without bottoming out in the hyperdrive adapters. I found the Lunsfurd //Ti screws, but they're shortest length is 7/16ths. Short of ordering 50 through McMaster does anyone have a lead on 8-32 screws short enough to do the job? I refuse to use aluminum . . .Maybe I just need to dremel down a steel one?
I just put a nut onto some old ally ones and cut them with a dremel. Then take the nut back off the clean the thread and haven't had any problems.
