A few quick questions:
1) The capacitor that is included - is it necessary to run it all the time?
Definately YES !!!
2) Any tips on a starting point for gearing? I'm thinking 107 software, with DDRS at 8 and ESC timing at 22.5. Motor is a SP v3 13.5, std rotor, timing at middle point, track is 19m x 12m with a full length straight.
DRSS 8 just makes unnecessary heat in my opinion.
Prefer 5 or 6 with 107. Has plenty rip especially if you lower the timing and gear up a bit. As suggested though start conservative with gearing and go from there.
3) I'm guessing a "safe" max motor temp is 70 deg C?
60-65 deg/c max but with 107 i am getting performance with temps consistantly below 60 deg/c
