I'm not a new-b, but I'm scratchin' my head on this one! I just picked up a Hyper 8 Pro buggy with the Hobao engine mounts and decided to drop in an engine. As I put the engine onto the mounts to see how it lined up...I noticed the clutch bell was about 1/4" or more behind the spur gear! The engine mounts can move from side to side, but there is not any adjustments for front to rear movement. Am I totally missing something? The engine is from a Savage...the 4.1 (.25) and I also tried an OS 30 just for fitting purposes. Both engines have the same problem. Any insight from buggy racers/owners would be appreciated.
HPI flywheel's are really short and dont have any step built in like most 1/8 buggy truggy clutch's do....so it will sit a lot closer to the motor VS a normal Flywheel and will cause what you are describing....you need a new clutch basically.
