You should check that the axial bearing washers drops freely down the axle.
it's a very tight fit and you might need to sand the axle slightly with a wet/dry sand paper (I had to)
When you mount the wheel on the diff side, make sure the washers goes straight onto the axle and don't bind - this could be the cause of your problem.
