I had the same problem before with JConcepts wheels on my old Jammin. When I switched to the D8 and the knarled lugs, the problem went away. But I think the problem was the wheel hubs not the lugs, on the Jammin, they seemed to be just a tiny bit smaller allowing the hub to turn in the wheel hex under high stress.
