Are you talking about the kevlar spur gear? If so I have ran it for a while now.....its a spur gear. I mean the only thing that I noticed with it is its harder to strip and it runs a little more straight then the blue ones did.

For the new spur, I wouldn't worry about it if you have a good blue spur. If your's wobbles bad, or if you strip it, go for it.
I only bought one after I FUBAR'ed my blue one while playing with "things" and almost killing myself with an x-act knife.
