Nope, you have it correct.
It gives the cars more steering at the mid point and exit of a corner.
I don’t know if you guys have ever looked a XXS but it uses a similar sweep in the front arms but at an even more aggressive angle.
Good thing you told us... some racers would bashing the car already for a possible design blunder...
