But thats not the problem with cheap temp guns. They may read 32 degrees fine but high temp I've seen as high temps over 200 be 50 degrees off or more. I've been bit by that before driver said engine fan wasn't coming on temp gun vs ECM was seeing. Changed coolant temp sensor for nothing beside the hot engine. Fan was working driver wasn't uses to the high engine temps.
Cheap temp gun went into the trash bought a good one from Matco tools.
