The reason why you want your temps above 212 is that is when the piston expands so it doesnt cause premature wear on the connecting rod and on the piston/sleeve. Running cool will decrease compression because the sleeve hasnt expanded. I have heard that putting a smaller restricor in will heat the engine up a little bit more. You say you dont have a restrictor in now? Why in the world would you take that 9mm out in it?

What temp gun do you have? Clean the tip with a qu-tip or cottom and see what the temp reads. I have found that Furatrax Flaspoints dont read very accurately. Compare it with a Exergen at the track, or any other guage for that matter. if you want temps to go up, put a little tin oil over the head to get it in the 220-240 range. Cant hurt really. Also, what outside temps are you running in?
