The first real RC car I bought was the redcat onroad car (lightning or something). After replacing the motor and the esc, i stripped the spur gear. I tried to find a replacement part that could be shipped to me for under 30 dollars and it wasn't happening. I just went out and got a real car (HPI). This was 3 years ago, things may have changed, but I'd have to advise against redcat.
