The general suggestions of "don't solder positive to the lead that will be exposed" are the common-sense route.

The reason I asked is because... what if my buddy needs to borrow a battery or a charge? Everything else has a standard of sorts, even if some brands are known to be "reverse" - at least we know about it. This is the only connector that seems to have no standard yet.
