people seem to be having a hard time understanding that HPI is Embracing spec racing to bring more people into the hobby, or people back like me, who want realism in how there cars looks and how it races. They just want to go faster! ABC is doing the same thing…some folks want this hobby only to go in the direction they want.
People always miss the importance of class that level the playing field and make it INVITING for someone to get into racing...
Spec classes always have been and always need to be the backbone of R/C racing - its nice to have the 'balls-to-the-wall' classes, but what the majority of people miss is that those people aren't what make up the majority of R/C racers...its the weekend racer who wants to have fun and hang out fulfilling their racing/speed desires without having to take a 1:1 car on the track
(I know that's why I do it)
Either way, when no one is left racing or tracks die out - the short-sighted people will wonder what happened
