I have had a Cambell/houshfeld oilless compressor for 6 years now, no problems at all. The oil based one I bought for my store is a pain in the butt. Oil leaks all over the place, and my employees have frozen the motor twice forgetting to check the oil. The window that shows oil level is so cloudy, you cant tell if it needs oil or not, and you cant tell if your overfilling it, which causes it to shoot oil all over the place when you turn it on. If you spend the money once and get a good oil free one ($200-$300) it will last a really long time, and one less thing to buy, or worry about and clean up, Just my 2 cents
