Very carefully, especially if you don't have spares. I work over a carpet work mat. The carpet catches them, and other parts fairly well instead allowing them to bounce away. I've also seen tips to put a bag over them as you remove them to catch them as they fly off. They are dirt cheap, so the best bet really is just to have a bunch of extras on hand.
