I used to have an FF02 and also did install the long span suspension option. I can say, yes it did improve the handling as the hop up parts were designed better with less slop plus the revised geometry gave the car a lower stance.
However, back in those days I was still just a parking lot basher so my testimony doesn't really hold that much water.
Swap ends? What's your set up? Maybe you just need "stickier" tires.
*And yes, if I remember things right, it does have 2 deg toe in rear uprights.
