Yes.. put the 2.0 shaft on the 1.0. Most of us who have converted our 8ight's to electric put it on to prevent it being dropped on hard landings. I held out as long as I could until I dropped that center shaft twice in one weekend. Dropping it isn't that big of a deal, it's having to take everything apart to reconnect it that sucks. After installing the 2.0 center shaft I've had no issues.
