they actually tend to hold quite a while, since the front of it remains protected by the nut and the cantilevering part points in the opposite direction of most impacts
The plastic is actually quite durable. Most of the time I just replace them when they start looking worn, or when i feel like taking some curved scissors to a soda bottle
. o yea, and they can be painted like normal lexan on the inside too
. but yea, primary function is to protect your nice shock towers and shock ends from chips or scratches in those "accidental" impacts or roll overs. A little effort goes a long way in making your stuff looking better for longer IMO. I'll rather cut me some new ones than having a shoddy looking front end
