The orginal Cross F1 was a very nice chassis and had alot more going on than just a center mounted battery option. It helps that the old AYK staff designed it. The rear rolling pod was a very big factor in makeing the chassis work. One of the guys I run with still uses this chassis,he has ran it for a number of years, but he runs the battery aft not center. We do not run Lipo.

The new Tech chassis with the center battery also uses a trick rear pod much like the orginal Cross chassis. The Tech chassis might be a better car to go with if you really want a center battery.

But really the center battery might not be an issue for people if they run Lipo as most people have to add a lot of weight anyway. Stick the weight in the rear.
