All infor will be greatly appreciated.
First,(and this will answer most of your questions) no, there are no huge differences between the IFS, IFS-R and the TA05, TA05-R. The biggest physical difference between any of them is, of course the shock position, and that the IFS-R no longer shares the same internal drive ratio. The iFS-R was given larger pulleys for the diffs and center pulleys, thus lowering the internal ratio and making gearing for brushless easier. The primary reason for the changes to the shocks wasn't performance, it was to allow the use of the lower nose bodies. Set up wise, the cars are set up differently though, simply because of the geometry of the front suspension.

Second, no, TRF parts are not very hard to import.(this is based on if you are in the US, since you don't have your location listed under your name) Not even hard...heck...I'd say down right easy. www.rc-champ.co.jp can get you anything TRF or Tamiya wise that you need. And they are only an email away. We Tamiya guys around here have had 2-3 Champ orders in the last month alone as we prepare for TCS, with nothing but great results as usual from Champ.
