I am in D-F/W also. I like Indy for convenience, I am only 20 minutes away. It is nice to be able to make a short drive and practice in a facility with provided tables, chairs, compressed air, etc.
I personally prefer JCG. I like the challenge of outdoor racing more. It is a different element, more bumps, ruts, dry track, makes you drive better. Yes you have to bring all your own track side equipment but to me its worth it. I hope JCG goes nowhere. I enjoy racing Indy in the winter and JCG in the summer.
