Check the metal contact. Look at the area that houses the springs. Then press down on that entire housing, and look at the metal contact, mine did the same thing, it turned out that the metal connecter had melted into the plastic, just 4 screws, and an Xacto Knife to remove the melted plastic off the metal connector, and she was as good as new.

Mines going on for nearly a year, and is still going extremely strong...
