Ive tried to use a crimper but unless you have a really nice crimping tool the connections will be compromised. First of all the wire needs to be stripped the correct length and the insulator needs to be crimped into the back of the connector itself . Otherwise the wires will pull right out . The Tools offeres at the hobby store are not very good for this at all. They just kinda go thru the motions . If you really want to do this, I highly recomend (carefully) soldering them as well.
