I didn't have to cut my regular TA-05, nor did the manual suggest I may have to. It's not mentioned in the regular IFS manual either. There's a different, bulkier servo saver included with the IFS-R. It uses metal bands instead of the plastic flex ring, and there's noticeably less slop, but you have to trim the tub to accommodate it.
