I have had 3 regulators go out in the last year. 2 run aways and 1 cost me a top 5 finish in a big race during the Amain. Had researched this to death and i decided to go back to NIMH. I run Futaba gear and they said I would have to regulate with the brushless servos. ALOT of Pro's are not running the lipo's due to the regultors failing during big races. Hopefully all the radio gear will eventually be capable of handling the lipos.
To me, the lipos just isnt worth it. I mean, whats the big deal of having to charge the pack once or twice during a race day???? I can easily get a hr. run time on a NIMH.
That being said, I know BlackBart, and he hasn't had any trouble since he took out his reg. Hopefully he won't, time will tell. I have just had to many issues running the lipo/reg, so I just say hell with it.
