i was there with you i believe you had the yellow d8, defo strip it down buddy, i done the 2 finals yesterday after poor qualifiers after the a main my car was solid.
i have jet washed and gt85'd it for now, but over the next few days the diffs will be coming out, the bearings in the front and rear hubs will be coming out also has mentioned check the pins and the arms they may need reaming to free them up.
its worth doing it buddy otherwise it will bite you in the butt later !!
