JUST did this myself. The effect may be in his head, but it does make sense that it would be more even in its draw left and right. It was really easy to do, as long as you have a longer tie-rod to connect to the middle of the crossmember. You also may need to shave a little off the ball cup, especially if you're using heavy-duty ones, or it will rub on the inside of the chassis cutout.
I have yet to run this car in a race with the mod - I'll be running this weekend. I think that you'll probably see a little more steering accuracy with the mod, but for most drivers it will be negligible.
