I would doubt it unless you are using the FRP chassis without countersunk screws as far as flex goes.
Stripped spurs is usually a broken rear gearbox or bent center shaft. I ran my 04 all summer and last winter in vintage and stock foam with no stripping problem. I am running the carbon tub chassis.
