Here is a list of tires and what types of surfaces they work on, just my feelings of tire choices along with preference rating from 1(worst) to 10(best). These are only tires I have ran as well.

PROLINES
Knuckle 2.0 = hard packed, no dust, high wear, medium to high traction
Crimefighters = hard packed (low traction M2 = 5, M3 = 7; high traction M2 = 6, M3 = 5) , fluffy(dry M2 = 6, M3 = 8; wet M2 = 8, M3 = 5), any wear
Bowties = hard packed(low traction M2 = 5, M3 = 6; high traction M2 = 8, M3 = 4), any wear
Holeshots = hard packed (low traction M2 = 6, M3 = 8; high traction M2 = 7, M3 = 4), medium to low wear

PANTHER
Chmeleon 1 or 2 = hard packed, no dust(or very little), medium to high traction
Komoto 1 or 2 = hard packed(low traction MS = 5, S = 6; high traction MS = 6, S = 4), fluffy(dry MS = 5, S = 7; wet MS = 6, S = 6) any wear
Switch 2.0 = hard packed clay, low wear, little to no dust

GRP
Jolly = hard packed, no dust, high wear, medium to high traction(prefer over knuckles due to frees up the car a little more)

LOSI
Step Pins = fluffy(wet or dry Red = 7), medium to low wear
XBT = hard packed(low or high traction Red = 7)any wear, fluffy(any traction Red = 5)

rememeber this is just my views of tires I have run and the conditions I prefered them in.
