most of todays new chargers have typical differences of all new things, they aren't just new make-up, they have more inside. (example-a PC from 1990 is top of the line then, billion times better in 2001,) a new charger has better peak detection circuitry, better cooling systems, higher amp rates(sometimes) and the ability to read the whole battery. My personal reccomendation is the millenium, it's the most charger for the money. You may be surprised the difference between an old charger and a new one.
