The HXT12 and MG995 (I have used both) tend to overshoot (about 3deg) and oscillates 3 times before it gets to its intended position. It's not an urban legend! DO NOT use these for your throttle!
Get a standard Sanwa/Airtronics SRM-102 or SX-112 servo for your throttle if you wanna save some cash, and get a bluebird servo for the steering
+1 what he said. I bought six of them online... didn't take me long to learn THAT lesson. It's not fun to come off a jump and have the servo alternating "brake-throttle-brake-throttle-brake-throttle" in the air...
At least the wires are useable for other stuff. Actually I guess you could use those on steering if you didn't mind a little wriggle returning to center... but they're not particularly reliable either. I DID run them on steering for a while and got away with it.
