what if you drill those holes right behind or in front of the existing screws? would that work? I think the time everyone will switch over to that front end, is when parts for the older design will be hard to find. Everyone cant just stop manufacturing older front ends, just because theres a new one out. It wont be like the old front end will put you at a huge disadvantage against this new one right? The top arms are the same, or they are also different? If not, buying a new 12th isnt all too bad, its not like youre dropping a fortune on one, so you can always buy a new one, if you feel your old design isnt working too great, but i just dont want people to lose support of the older design because associated made something new.
