I have the same depth perception issue at the far side of one of my favorite tracks. The issue I find is that at the far side of the track, I've got a single viewing plane. Its a solid side shot of my buggy/truggy so I can't see where the buggy is in relation to the rest of the lane.
On some tracks this isn't a problem as the driver's stand is tall enough so you have at least a semi-look down view....
Try standing on something so you have a better look-down angle on your buggy/truggy...
