Thicker dampening slows the reaction of the side springs and thinner allows it to travel more freely. When you slow the reaction down it will give the effect of more steering because it allows the side flex plates to transfer and return the energy or weight to the front tire over a longer period of time. Thinning the side dampening out has the opposite effect. The key is to find the ideal balance for your track conditions. If you go too thick it can cause the car to chatter through corners or lifting an inside rear wheel.
If the car is rolling too much and not carrying corner speed, this can be because the car is rolling too much and may need thicker fluid in the tubes. The car should be smooth and not be darty. If you get the fluid right, the car will transition smoothly and keep its cornerspeed while doing so. There are other variables also so i would start with the kit setting and save the damper fluid as one of your last adjustments.
