Just upgrade your radio and transmitter. The rtr radio doesn't have expadencials (adjustable servo speeds) which makes the truggy very twitchy. Also to get rid of the frequence band (convert to spectrum) and get some bearings for the steering rack and some aluminum inserts for the rear diff. and you should be good.

rtr kits vs. race kits have many differences not just the shock towers and chassis, especially racing them.
