Default Brand new track Sacramento

This is a repost from rescuerc..Thanks Joe!!!!

Greetings Fellow Racers,

I'm excited to announce that there is a new track being built at the Prairie City OHV Park for us Radio Control Racers, currently there is an area where the BMX track is that were going to utilize for the RC facilities.

There is lightning for the track and around the pit areas, so we can hold night races for those hot days and whatever. There is about a 500+ seating capable grandstands, hopefully we'll be able to fill them. The pit area for the racers is separate from the spectator’s area which has its own purpose built bathroom, it is shaded. The building on site near the pit area will house parts and a concession area for drinks and food or whatever. Also, the spectator area has its own bathroom area which is also shaded. Since were in the OHV Park, No worries about people complaining about noise or dust or whatever. As for parking, there’s a lot.

Working with Bigboyztoyz and some of the Prairie City OHV staff, we have come to an agreement to hold races there on a temporary to permanent basis. Here is the 411;

The track is going to be ready to hold races by the middle of October, this year, and we are on a trial basis until the end of the year. So weather permitting, were going to hold as many races as possible. If they like what they see, were going to get the facility for the long-term, still how long undecided. The Prairie City staff wants to see the track bring in a family / fun / safe type of environment, something that compliments the rest of the activities that go on at prairie city.

Basically what we need from the racing community is ... Race, Race and more racing. Come out and bring your cars and have some fun. If everything goes well, we'll have a first class racing facility for long term. If we get the facility for long term, there's no limit on what we could do for having various racing events. When everything goes well, we are capable of having not only a sweet off-road track, but an Oval track, Basher track, Electric 1/10 off-road track and an On-Road 1/10 & 1/8 track.

Within a few days we should have some flyers and a web site for more information, during this time here is some info on the first race.

The first race will be held on October 21st (Next Month , Duh)

Gates Open @ 8:00am

Practice @ 8:30am to 10:00am

Drivers Meeting @ 10:15am

Racing Starts @ 10:30am

There will be 3 Rounds of Qualifying @ 7 minutes long

Mains are 25min A / 15min B / 10min all lower mains

Classes are – Monster Truck, 1/8th Buggy, 1/8th Truggy and Baja 5b.

There will be sportsman and expert classes in Buggy and Truggy.

Fees - $15 for the first class and $10 for the second

Personal transponders are required to race.

Since were on a trial basis until the end of the year, the most cost effective form of insurance is a ROAR membership, so you will be required to have a ROAR membership to race at the facility. When we get the area for a longer term we’ll have a different form of insurance which will not require you to be a ROAR member.

You can sign up for a ROAR membership at the track.

One more thing, There is a park entrance fee of $5.00 per vehicle, not per person if you’re with a group of people, so car pooling is suggested and cheaper.

I’m pumped up to make this work, because it could be awesome for the Nor-Cal racers. If we can get more exposure, then it’s possible to bring new competitors into the ranks, and better turnouts should lead to manufacturers wanting more exposure for their product, which may lead into sponsorship opportunities for racers and whatever else?

Thanks, see you at the harvest
