Also regarding the DX2/3 and the antenna. The Spektrum antenna's are different from AM/FM radios. They do not thread into a screw hole, but a thin wire runs down the middle of the antenna and plugs into the TX unit. So even if you remove the antenna you will have a wire still attached to the internal TX unit.
