Sorry yeah, the layshaft is what i meant.
With the shims around the diff, they are quite thin shims like .1 and .2 mm i think off the top of my head, so the play shouldnt really be that excessive.
If you can take any decent pictures of your car perhaps that might help me see if there is anything unusual. So you checked that the collar to the servo saver hasnt come undone?
