the benefit is that it is a smoother,less abrasive pivot and it is self alligning with no chance of shifting.it has a pretty decent size detent capturing the ball inside the pivot so i felt it would be a strong secure pivot with minimal wear on the pivot ball.it also compliments the nickel /teflon pivot ball that will be used in all the rear pivots.silky smoothe pivot action with zero slop
