That's pretty much what I have been doing lately, only with different products. I should have mentioned greasing the top/bottom of the foam in my first post.
I never tried starting fluid on foams, but I have used it for cleaning diffs and such. You can find it for under $2 a can if you look around. Far better than buying nitro sprays
