I think a lot of people are really worried about side impacts with this type of mounting style. I know I am. It's a shame that cars like this are getting more and more designed around the 1% of drivers in the world who never crash or don't have to pay for replacement parts and electronics.
A GTB is half the price of the car. I can't afford to take something so fragile and hang it out there in the open like that. Personally, I really like the added side plate. Very creative!
Maybe Bud Bartos or some other innovative company will come out with something out of Kydex that will help protect the expensive electronics a bit...
