I use the novak fans on my car and no problems. I temped a motor after a run with and without the fans and the novak fans made a big difference in temperature. I also find that they seem to move more air then any of the other RC fans that I have bought in years past.
I'm not 100% sold on the logic on moving the fans over - for the slight change in location of the fans I would be more worried about the amount of natural airflow that the mount blocks - that and I like how clean the fans look when mounted right to the bulkheads.
