When you say tighten up! do you mean so that they don't slip? Personally I build my diff then put it in the car, this is when I tweak the diff. While holding the and a wheel, try to turn the opposite side of the same diff, if the wheel turns then the diff is slipping, keep turning the diff screw in increments until the wheel dont want to crank over.
